I am Matt Easley, the manager for ESP's Digital Signal Processing (DSP) group. We have five senior engineers with a combined 80 years of algorithm and DSP programming experience. Generally, we focus on fixed-point real-time applications, using integrated circuits from the leading suppliers like Texas Instruments, Motorola, AT&T, NEC and Analog Devices.

We work with many companies that see the advantage of replacing analog circuits with new DSP based solutions. In some situations, our algorithm development work has been implemented in custom ASICS. In fact, ESP has developed a DSP core that clients can license for their application. We keep a library of intellectual property in the DSP group that can be licensed to new customers. In many instances we have developed the technology in conjunction with a client, who then allows ESP to explore how to utilize the completed work in other markets or product segments.

We work closely with consumer electronic manufacturers and certain technology suppliers to determine if our ideas bring value to their products. Personally, I spent many years at Hayes here in Atlanta, working on several generations of modems using DSP technology. I've been with ESP for four years.
